Welcome to a unique journey through the lens of your camera! If you have ever walked the Camino trails, experienced its beauty, met inspiring people, or felt the spiritual depth of this pilgrimage, this is your chance to share that experience with the world and be rewarded for your creativity.
The photo contest “Best of Camino 2025/26” is designed to bring together Camino enthusiasts from around the world, giving them the opportunity to capture and showcase the magic of this remarkable journey. Whether your talent lies in portraits of pilgrims, breathtaking landscapes, or sacred motifs, every photo tells a story that can inspire others to begin their own Camino adventure.
Join us and share your vision in one (or all three) of the following categories:
Portraits – People on the Camino: pilgrims, locals, or guides.
Landscapes – Stunning natural scenes and vistas.
Sacred – Religious and spiritual motifs that make the Camino unique.
The top photographs will win valuable prizes, be featured in our book Best of Camino 2025/26, and could even appear in exhibitions in Croatia or Santiago de Compostela!

Due to the great interest and the fact that many pilgrims are just beginning or planning their Camino journey for next year, the “Best of Camino 2025” contest has been extended through the end of 2026.
This extension gives everyone more time to share their Camino stories and photos — whether you are currently walking, preparing for your next pilgrimage, or revisiting cherished memories from your past Camino.
New submission deadline: December 31, 2026.

Contest Description:
The photo contest is international in nature and open to anyone who wishes to share their creativity and experiences connected to the Camino. Photos must be submitted exclusively through the dedicated form on our website, and the contest includes three categories:
- Portraits – Photos of people on the Camino, including pilgrims, guides, or locals.
- Landscapes – Scenic views and natural wonders along the Camino.
- Sacred – Sacred motifs such as churches, statues, altars, or other spiritual elements.
Submission Guidelines:
- Each participant can submit one photo per category.
- Submissions must include a title and description containing:
- The photographer’s name.
- The date and location where the photo was taken.
- Participation is open to all
Contest Duration:
The contest begins immediately upon its official announcement on our website and social media channels and ends on December 31, 2026.
Prizes:
Each category will award three prizes:
- First Place: €100 + a Föhn 33L backpack.
- Second Place: €50.
- Third Place: Symbolic prize – a t-shirt with the Association’s logo and a backpack patch featuring the Association’s logo.
Special Features:
- Inclusion in the book Best of Camino 2025: The top 50 photos will be featured in a book that will also include stories and artistic works from related contests. The book will be published on Amazon.
- Exhibition: The best photos will be displayed in a gallery in Croatia, along the Camino, or in Santiago de Compostela – to be determined by the Association.
- Online Gallery: All submitted photos will be showcased in an online gallery on our website, with select works shared on our Instagram profile under the hashtag #viasanctijacobi.
