Camino Zagorje takes you on a three-day walking journey through the picturesque hills of the Croatian Zagorje, a region known for its rich cultural heritage, spiritual centers, and pristine nature. The journey begins in Lepoglava, famous for its Pauline monastery and renowned Lepoglava lace, and continues towards Zlatar, passing a slightly elevated path above the town, through Gornja and Donja Batina. From the hilltops, stunning views of the Zagorje landscape unfold, offering a sense of peace and connection with nature.
The second day brings you to Marija Bistrica, Croatia’s most famous Marian shrine and an important spiritual destination. Here, pilgrims and travelers have gathered for centuries in search of peace and inspiration. On the third day, the route leads to Sljeme, the highest peak of Medvednica, from where a magnificent view of Zagreb and the wider Zagorje region can be seen.
